The Box

Well it is the end of another day at work and I have to wonder sometimes whether what I do really matters in the scheme of things?  All I seem to do is direct people from the comfort of my office through email.  I recieve questions, answer them.  Order people to do other things etc but don’t actively produce anything tangible that I know.  If a person types in an office and no one else is there to listen does it make a sound…?  Does it really happen? Do I exist?

Home is the opposite.  I have my own little fan club in my three kids – and they think I can, and expect me to be able to do anything, or even fix anything!  My son broke one of his playstation controllers the other day (he is 4) he goes – thats alright you can fix it, and I did.  So at home I am highly productive and make a tangible difference…  At work….?  If only I could get paid to do the former.

Have signed up for a Windows Live Space just to check out the service.  At first glance it would seem very slow.  Less configurable than Blogsome and worst of all owned by Microsoft.  At this stage I am not impressed, but I will continue to give it a try and see how we go…

Have just downloaded Windows Live Writer© to test.  Seems to be an easy way to blog.  Am currently trying to also configure Diarist 2.1 to be able to blog from my PDA but as yet have not been able to get it to work.  I think it is an issue of not being able to connect to the Internet through ActiveSync on my work network.  Will have to try this when I get access to a ‘real’ internet connection.
